Accessibility Advisory Committee

THAT the content of the Accessibility Advisory Committee Meeting agenda for Thursday, September 17, 2026, be adopted as amended: Attachment added to Agenda Item 5.3

THAT the Accessibility Advisory Committee approve the following Draft 2027 Goals and Objectives including any identified budget considerations: Accessible Public Spaces and Facilities To provide advice and recommendations on municipal facilities, public spaces, parks, trails, recreation amenities, and capital projects to promote accessibility, inclusion, and the principles of universal design. Accessible Transportation and Community Mobility To support accessible transportation and community mobility initiatives by identifying barriers and providing advice on transit services, pedestrian infrastructure, active transportation networks, and wayfinding systems. Accessible Communications and Information To promote equitable access to information by providing advice on accessible communications, customer service practices, digital accessibility, signage, and alternative communication supports. Community Inclusion and Accessibility Leadership To advance a culture of accessibility and inclusion within the community through public education, community engagement, partnerships, and initiatives that support participation and belonging for persons of all abilities. AND THAT the Draft 2027 Goals and Objectives document be forwarded to Legislative Services for consideration in the Draft 2027 Municipal Budget.

THAT the Accessibility Advisory Committee receive the 2027 Accessibility Advisory Committee meeting schedule for their information.

THAT the meeting of the Accessibility Advisory Committee be hereby adjourned at 3:48 p.m.
