Collingwood Heritage Committee

THAT the content of the Collingwood Heritage Committee agenda for Thursday, June 4, 2026, be adopted as amended: Addition: Other Business - 2026 Heritage Grant for 43 Hurontario Street

THAT the minutes of the regular meeting of the Collingwood Heritage Committee held on Thursday, May 7, 2026, be adopted as presented and forwarded to Council for receipt at its next regular meeting.

THAT the Collingwood Heritage Committee endorse Resolution No. 096-2026 of the Town of Saugeen Shores regarding the Architectural Conservancy of Ontario (ACO) proposal to include $10 million annually in the 2026 Provincial Budget for the Heritage Helping Housing (HHH) grant program; AND THAT the Committee recommend that Council endorse the resolution in support of increased provincial funding for heritage conservation and adaptive reuse for housing purposes.

THAT the Collingwood Heritage Committee supports the Collingwood Cultural Heritage Emergency Management Plan as presented, subject to minor revisions in response to final staff review; AND THAT the Collingwood Heritage Committee recommends that Council approve Collingwood Cultural Heritage Emergency Management Plan.

THAT the Collingwood Heritage Committee receive the Heritage Permits List as presented for information purposes: PLHP2026136: 198 Pine Street - Front porch repairs; repainting porch, fence, and garage PLHP2026151: 265 Pine Street- New rear yard wood fencing visible from Fourth St W PLHP2026157: 105 Hurontario Street - Masonry repairs PLHP2026162: 22 Second Street- Repainting window trim and north entrance doors PLHP2026176: 212 Pine Street: Replacing the existing asphalt shingles with new asphalt shingles in the same colour PLHP2026186: 234 Pine Street: Front porch repairs and repainting; reconstruction of north chimneys in accordance with original design PLHP2026189: 362 Peel Street: Repainting the exterior siding and trim

THAT the Collingwood Heritage Committee acknowledge and appreciate Council support and Staff’s efforts to date in advancing the restoration of the Central Park gates and lamp posts; AND THAT the Collingwood Heritage Committee recommend that Council approve funding in the 2027 Parks budget, in an amount to be determined by staff, sufficient to restore the light fixtures on the Central Park gates and lamp posts in accordance with the original design.

THAT the Collingwood Heritage Committee recommend approval for the 2026 Heritage Grant application for 43 Hurontario Street.
